CIV promotes Education through Dance with dancer Pedro Curado
Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura is developing an educational project through the arts, guided by dancer, teacher and choreographer Pedro Curado, from the School of Dance.
Every Monday students from Preschool and 1º Ciclo participate enthusiastically in a creative dance workshop. They are exposed to musical stimuli and invited to relate to space and movement, with regards to themselves and others. This project focuses on self, through the formation of a positive body image, and promotes socialization, expression, contact, sensitivity, group decision-making, self-confidence and physical-motor co-ordination .
By sharing the basic principles of the CIV Educational Project, students portray their talents, show expression and are encouraged to appreciate their talents. To attain physical expression, the freedom and spontaneity of movement is encouraged whilst exploring ideas, therefore becoming aware of their ability of conveying thoughts through movement.
This project will be included in the programme of the Awards Ceremony on the 24th of June, at the Palácio de Congressos do Algarve, Salgados, Albufeira.
